Top 4 Books That Need to Become Broadway Musicals

sing-201027_1920

By “need to become,” I mean that they should be Hamilton/Wicked/Les Misérables level productions.

1. Pride and Prejudice

Listening to Mr. Darcy sing…sold.

2. The Great Gatsby

Imagine the complicated harmonies resulting from Daisy, Tom, and Gatsby singing at the same time (“One Day More” style).

3. Wuthering Heights

The romance.  The setting.  The drama…

4. Frankenstein

The original version.  I imagine the monster and Frankenstein would have incredibly moving songs.

What do you think? What books do you wish would be adapted into a musical? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I AM SO HAPPY THIS IS THE FIRST POST I SAW. I agree that Pride and Prejudice would make a lovely musical, and I know they’ve tried a few times. Of more modern books? I’d love to see One Day by David Nicholls or PS I Love You by Cecelia Ahern. They’re both so simple and beautiful and I think they lend themselves well to music.
