Red Riding Hood Silent Film with Classical Music

IMG_4400

This past year I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance.  For my senior recital, I decided to do something a little different.  To me, the Haydn sonata I was learning sounded like the kind of music you might hear in an old, silent film.  So I decided (because my life just wasn’t hectic enough) to enlist a few friends and create my own film with a story that reflected the music.  The result was a slightly tongue-in-cheek, quirky retelling of Little Red Riding Hood.  After a day of (incredibly fun) filming, I designed the poster and edited the different pieces of video together, timing it so I could perform live while the movie was playing at the recital.

Below is the recording from the recital itself.  Enjoy!!

  1. Wow. You are one very multi-talented person. The poster was perfect, the video synced with the music genius. I appreciated the quirky bits, especially the food tosses into your mouth. I recently discovered this blog and am now following it. Your posts have just the right blend of everything. Well done. I bet you’d be a fun and extremely interesting friend to have around.
