Pride and Prejudice As Told By Taylor Swift Songs

No one captures the angst of Pride and Prejudice quite like T. Swift does. What follows, then, is a trip through this classic novel by means of some of her greatest songs:

1) Mean: When Darcy insults Lizzy’s beauty at the ball

2) Enchanted: When Lizzy meets Wickham

“The playful conversation starts
Counter all your quick remarks
Like passing notes in secrecy

And it was enchanting to meet you”

3) Come Back… Be Here: When Wickham leaves without a warning

“I told myself don’t get attached,
But in my mind I play it back”

4) Tell Me Why: Lizzy towards Darcy after his botched proposal plus learning about his role in splitting up Jane and Mr. Bingley…

“You took a swing, I took it hard 
And down here from the ground I see who you are…

You tell me that you love me then you cut me down”

5) I Knew You Were Trouble: Lizzy’s feelings about Wickham

“Once upon a time a few mistakes ago

6) Girl At Home: When Wickham tries to hit on Lizzy again after he had just been hitting on some rich girl

“So don’t look at me,

7) I Almost Do: When Lizzy starts to want Darcy

“And I wish I could run to you.
And I hope you know that every time I don’t
I almost do”

8) I Wish You Would: Lizzy’s feelings toward Darcy right before they finally become engaged

  7. Oh my goodness I love this! I haven’t heard a few of those songs, but they fit perfectly!! My bookish soul wants to fit Bad Blood in there somewhere just because I love the song but I don’t know if it fits haha! Nah, it’s more of a Willoughby/Marianne kind of song! 😉😂 Anyway, great post! You got me laughing. 🙂
