E.T. by Katy Perry = Heathcliff and Catherine’s relationship
Both are filled with a lot of passion and otherworldliness. Heathcliff is also someone to be afraid of, like the song suggests.
Heathcliff’s desire to be haunted also has parallels with Perry’s language:
Heathcliff: “Be with me always—take any form—drive me mad! only do not leave me in this abyss, where I cannot find you!”

(SPOILERS for Jane Eyre)
What if instead of being mentally insane, Rochester’s secret wife was actually a werewolf?
Just imagine: Jane hears strange noises in the night that sound like a mix between human and beast (so far, so consistent with the actual novel). But then it turns out the creature, Rochester’s wife, is a werewolf. Would the story really change from the standpoint of plot??

If you like George Orwell’s 1984, then you might like the band Muse. Their sound is classified as alternative, but I think you could also call it rock. The vocals are particularly fantastic, there are some incredible electric guitar lines, and they even play off of classical music at times. Overall, their sound is hard to describe but it’s fantastic.
Some of their songs have this rebellious and apocalyptic feel (hence, my association with 1984). A prime example:

“When you came upon me in Hay Lane last night, I thought unaccountably of fairy tales, and had half a mind to demand whether you had bewitched my horse: I am not sure yet.”
Yay or nay?
I bet Vronsky and Wickham would have been friends.
They’re both ladies’ men.
They’ve both gone after high-society women (Anna and Georgianna—hey, their names are even similar).
They’re both soldiers.
They both end up in not the happiest of situations (married to Lydia and trying to get himself killed in the Servian war, respectively).
I can just picture them both sitting in a bar, good-naturedly arguing over whose woman is better while simultaneously complaining about said woman and swapping war stories. Two peas in a pod.
