Disney to Take On “12 Dancing Princesses”…Probably
I am making a prediction.
You know how in Frozen Hans has twelve older brothers? Well, to me that sounds an awful lot like a set up for some version of the Twelve Dancing Princesses fairy tale. After all, it sure is a convenient number of brothers to have…
So I’m calling it now. We can look forward to Disney’s version of this fairy tale sometime in the future.

10 Awesome Words For Bananagrams
Bananagrams is kind of like Scrabble: you race against other players to get rid of your letter tiles by making words. But do you ever feel like a cheat when you find yourself using the same words over and over again or making a lot of three-letter words? Well, I do, and as a result I tend to look for crazy words even if it takes extra time, just because it’s fun! 1. Nobody knows for sure why limericks are named limericks. There have been numerous theories put forward for why the five-line verse known as the ‘limerick’ is so named, but none of them is conclusive. The name ‘limerick’ was first applied to the five-line form in the late nineteenth century, and one theory holds that comic verses once contained the line ‘Will [or won’t] you come (up) to Limerick?’ But although the poems are almost certainly named after Limerick in Ireland, whether this is the true explanation of the name’s origin remains unproven. Music, Princesses, and Emma Watson

(I basically already posted 11 random facts about myself for another award, so instead of repeating myself you can check them out here. As a sneak preview, I talk about swords, Batman, and setting my hair on fire.)
1. What made you start your blog?
I am writing a book that is provisionally titled “Dickens and the Cheshire Cat: The Book Lover’s Guide to Classical Music.” In it I discuss how to hear stories in music (along the lines of the “Classical Music Stories” section of my blog, but in more detail). So my goal as I’ve been blogging is to connect with people who might share my interests (and, of course, to have fun!).
I believe that without first connecting to classical music and enjoying it on a personal level, technical information about things like how to identify instruments and form is more useless than useful. So, yes, the “goal” of the book I am writing is to help readers have an appreciation for classical music, but not because it is better than other music. I love my pop and rock tunes as much as the next person! Instead, the fact that classical music tells such intricate stories makes it likely that the avid reader would also be an avid listener if he or she cracked the code, so to speak, on how to listen. I hope my book will help with just that and introduce readers to this fascinating and fun activity that they might just love…
2. How do you de-stress after a long day?
Playing games on my phone, taking the most ridiculous Buzzfeed quizzes I can find, and reading, of course.

Batman and the Lion King

Mine would be The Lion King with Batman…I’m picturing Batman holding up Simba on Pride Rock, or maybe Batman as Mufasa speaking from the clouds.

7 Quirky Things About Me + 11 Questions Answered
I have recently been nominated for two blogger awards: the Liebster (I love how that just autocorrected to Lobster) and the One Lovely Blog award, so I’m just going to tackle them both in one post!
But first of all, thanks so much to Erika Kind (Liebster) and Susanne Valenti (One Lovely Blog) for the nominations!
So here are 7 (quirky) facts about myself:
1) At my 16th birthday party, I accidentally set my hair on fire. My mother and friends had just finished singing Happy Birthday to me when it fell into the candle flames on my birthday cake. I was concentrating so hard on blowing out all 16 candles in one breath that I didn’t even notice…I just saw my friends staring at me with wide eyes and heard my mom shouting my name and clapping her hands against my hair. Oops.
2) Freshman year of my undergraduate experience my roommate and I teamed up to kidnap our friend’s mannequin. Where we left ransom notes, he responded with Pulp Fiction quotes thrust under our door. But hey, he started it by scaring me half to death with that mannequin just chilling in our shower. So I have no regrets. (P.S. for those of you who may be wondering, we did–of course–eventually give it back.)
